The public debate in the UK (and elsewhere) simply does not reflect the scale and urgency of the crisis.
We need to shift it into emergency mode, and devote the same attention and resources to it as to a war or a pandemic.
To that end, we are working on the National Emergency Briefing: a one-off event in Westminster in November 2025, which will gather the UK's top experts across all the climate and nature crisis, from food supply to health to national security.
Tired of waiting for the government to get its act together, they will hold an official briefing for MPs and other decision-makers.
Which will then be rolled out across the UK, so citizens can judge for themselves and hold their representatives accountable.
If the powers-that-be don't act with due responsibility and urgency in the face of this existential crisis, others will step up and model the way forward.
