To deal with the global problems we face, the world will inevitably require one leader. Let’s begin by crowdsourcing him or her to plant the seed in people’s minds.
Our problems are world problems.
Yet we are hamstrung by local governments, squabbling.
Could citizens bypass their parochial states and elect a world leader.
At first this would be a symbolic gesture.
But over time the idea could grow in culture.
It would help us identify as humans first, French Swedish Chinese second.
A bold world leader could accrue legitimacy.
Eventually gaining power through the UN or other institution.
In a soft coup by and for humanity.
